Class Descriptions

Our intro to dance class for ages 2-3

This class uses creative movement to help teach young dancers the building blocks of dance. Dance styles used in this class are ballet and jazz!

TUTU TOTS

DANCING STARS

Once your dancer has graduated from Tutu Tots they will be invited to join our Dancing Stars where dance terminology and tap is introduced.

This class is also a great starter class for ages 4-6!

Dance styles instructed in this class are ballet, jazz and tap!

BALLET

Our ballet classes are a studio requirement for all team members. This class is also encouraged for anyone who is interested in pushing their technique.

Ballet helps build strong posture, improves balance, works self discipline and builds self confidence.

Dancers are instructed to use proper body placement and body alignment while working at the barre, in center and across the floor.

Pre-Pointe classes are also offered to those who are approved by Miss Kaylee

JAZZ

Jazz is a high energy and upbeat dance style that incorporates strength, flexibility, and conditioning techniques. Dancers will focus on working proper dance technique that include isolations of the body, improve your performance quality and develop complex rhythms and patterns through music.

LYRICAL

Lyrical is a style that combines ballet, jazz and modern techniques. This class often uses music with lyrics to inspire choreography and facial expressions that helps create a story.

Flexibility is also focused within lyrical to help create long lines and pictures within choreography.

TAP

This class is for dancers who enjoy creating sounds and making music with your feet!

Dancers will be instructed to work musicality, rhythms and patterns while learning basic tap steps and tap vocabulary.

HIP HOP

Our hip hop classes bring self expression to the studio. Classes include a conditioning warm up, movement across the floor, floor work and style exploration.

Dancers are instructed to work fundamental hip hop moves or moves from social media platforms to keep up with the latest trends.

CONTEMPORARY

Contemporary is style of expressive dance that combines ballet, jazz, lyrical and modern. Our instructors strive to connect the mind and body through movement. Choreography often helps dancers express emotionally through movement and breath while creating shapes and working isolations of the body.

IMPROV

This class is designed to help our dancers become artist. Our classes start with an artistic warm up that encourages freestyle movements. Dancer learn techniques to help build confidence while exploring levels, shapes, and spatial awareness.

Mock auditions and choreography opportunities are also focused on throughout the year

TEAM ONLY CLASSES

These classes are only offered to 2023-2024 Team Students on Company or Academy

Conditioning - Works on endurance and strength of dancers. Cross training is essential to dancers to help with injury prevention, builds stamina required for competitive dancers and focuses on muscle growth for control when dancing.

Jumps/Turns - This class focuses on specific movements or techniques that will help strengthen dancers turns or jumps.

Flexibility - Required for all team members to take to help improve dance movement, stronger range of motion, and focuses on injury prevention.

Across the Floor/Progressions - This class focuses on combinations of movement that travel across the floor. Each combination will consist of turns, jumps and kicks while also using directional changes, weight changes, level changes and use of space.
