Edgar Villegas:

Dance has always been a part of his life, but it wasn’t until junior year of high school that Edgar realized dance was his passion. He first enrolled at  The City Performing Arts Academy where he first started his technical training studying multiple styles of dance that include ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, lyrical and modern dance.

Performing is a big passion of his and he has always loved the opportunity to be on stage.  Edgar was involved in the school musicals and dance programs throughout all four years of high school. He was also involved in performing throughout the community doing Mexican folkloric. After graduating from El Diamante, he studied dance at the College of the Sequoias and trained with local teachers such as Linda Amaral, Gracie Lovenburg and Martha Kelley-Fierro.

While being a full time student at Fresno State and receiving his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis on physical education and dance, he  has also managed to direct a competitive team at a former studio alongside Alyssa Rodriguez. He has also helped choreograph dances and musicals for local high schools in the community.  Other accomplishments include winning multiple choreography and performance awards from local competitions.
